Tom Staub CEO

Tom oversees Red Oak’s vision, mission, expansion strategy, underwriting, and financial planning. He guides the company with a keen focus on the development of complete communities from acquisition to sellout. Tom’s real estate experience includes building, various property portfolios from single-family to multifamily syndications, and flex industrial and since 2019, has focused in master planned community development. He has gained a reputation for trust, innovation, a people-focused vision, his transparent straightforward communication, and delivering results, enabling him to build a network of private long-term investors. Prior to focusing on the real estate sector in 2009, Tom spent 12 years in corporate finance and strategy for top Fortune 10 companies and in Silicon Valley where he helped small companies scale to unicorn status ($1B in annual revenue).

Tom’s forward-thinking approach allows him to stay ahead of trends, while his entrepreneurial spirit, and clear vision for creating new communities that anticipate changing lifestyle needs has positioned Red Oak as a leader in the development industry, consistently delivering solid returns for investors. His experience and strategic vision continue to propel the company toward sustained success and expansion. He is also the founder of TEACH, Teacher’s Economic Advancement through Community Homeownership with a goal to help 500 teachers purchase homes by 2040.

David Teo Partner

David is instrumental in establishing Red Oak’s capital strategy, management of investor relations, developing strategic partnerships, underwriting projects, and overseeing legal and tax compliance. He evaluates the financial viability of all projects, and structures investment models that minimize risks and optimize returns for investors and Red Oak. David is skilled at developing strategic alliances, particularly with commercial and medical developers, to enhance the appeal of Red Oak’s communities by integrating essential services that people want, like healthcare and retail into complete communities. He also manages legal review, compliance, and regulatory oversight to optimize operational efficiency. Collaborating with select third party consultants, David directs tax planning to maximize returns and safeguard investor interests. In addition to being Partner at Red Oak, David is the CEO of Centauri Capital Group, leading an investment portfolio of over $400M in assets ranging from Multifamily, Medical Offices, and Land assets.

His comprehensive oversight and multi-faceted expertise guide overall strategic vision, ensuring alignment of both individual project and long-term goals to maintain Red Oak’s industry leadership. David serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce and chairs the Chamber’s Advisory Board. He also serves as an advisor to several international startups.

Mike Miller Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Community Development

Mike is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of Red Oak’s communities and leads a team of community vision planning and design consultants in these efforts. He oversees all operations including development agreements and public finance vehicles, builder partnerships and land sales, execution of commercial partnerships, CCRs, community design and architecture guidelines, HOA formation and execution, construction partnerships, marketing and land acquisition feasibility, entitlements and underwriting, including expansion efforts into other markets

Prior to Red Oak, Mike was the Senior Vice President of the Land Division at the Signorelli Company, one of Houston’s largest land development companies, where he oversaw the Master Planned Community division and played a pivotal role in underwriting, envisioning and launching two major projects: 4,700-acre Austin Point and 3,000-acre Firefly. Prior to this, Mike was a VP at Ashlar Development leading the nationally award-winning community The Groves and held land acquisition and development roles for Taylor Morrison and CalAtlantic Homes. He has a master’s degree in real estate development from Texas A&M and an undergrad in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Virginia. He is on a national ULI Community Development Council and is on the Development Industry Advisory Board for Texas A&M. Mike and his family reside in Houston, Texas.
