Buc-ee’s is expanding and breaking ground on its new flagship store in Luling, Texas. The new store will be the largest Buc-ee’s in the world and will occupy more than 75,000 square feet and include everything Buc-ee’s fans love about the travel centers: delicious food, ample parking, a variety of merchandise, and clean restrooms. Caldwell County and residents of Luling are excited about this new addition to their community that will bring more tourists and jobs to the area.
A Bit Of Buc-ee’s History
Buc-ee’s was founded in 1982 by Arch “Beaver” Aplin III and Don Wasek. Their first store opened in Lake Jackson, Texas, and since then, they’ve grown to include more than 40 stores throughout the country, 35 of which are in the great state of Texas. Arch lent charm to this travel station by naming it after his beloved pup “Buck” and bestowing a beaver as its mascot in honor of his nickname.
Today, Buc-ee’s is best known for its clean bathrooms, a wide array of snacks and refreshments, and friendly customer service. Visitors can choose from jerky, gummies, granola bars, chips, and more! The store also offers breakfast options such as breakfast tacos, omelets, pancakes, and BBQ sandwiches for lunch and dinner. And, of course, the famous beaver nuggets are an all-time favorite of Buc-ee’s fans!
A Different Kind Of Travel Store
What sets Buc-ee’s apart from other large travel shops is that it isn’t a typical truck stop. The company prohibits commercial big rigs from pulling into their parking lot.
Despite the disappointment experienced by some truckers over Buc-ee’s strict “NO 18-wheelers” policy, this measure has gone a long way in keeping visitors satisfied and safe while frequenting its locations. After all, big trucks can cause traffic congestion, damage pavement, and take up a lot of space in the parking lot.
The creators of Buc-ee’s had an ambitious dream – to provide something different for tourists and locals, mainly since multiple other well-known truck-stop chains already fulfill the need of truck drivers across America. Luling, Texas, Will Be Home to the Biggest Buc-ee’s in the Country!
Nearly twenty years ago, in 2003, Luling, Texas, became home to the first mega-sized Buc-ee’s family travel center — a 35,000-square-foot mega-store that employs around 100 locals. But, since then, Buc-ee’s has built several larger mega-stores across the nation, including a 73,000-square-foot store in Tennessee that’s scheduled to open in early 2023.
However, Tennessee will only hold the title of the largest Buc-ee’s in the country for a short time since Luling is slated to be the home of the biggest Buc-ee’s in the world once again!
In November 2022, Buc-ee’s founder, Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, broke ground to construct their flagship mega-store in the exact location as their first family travel center in Luling, Texas. After two decades of success for Luling and its patrons, this new expanded edition was a long time coming.
The new Luling Buc-ee’s will be located at 10070 I-10, next door to the existing Luling Buc’ee’s, and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. This new flagship store will provide 250 jobs in the area. For a town of just over 6,000 residents, this will be a tremendous economic boost to the city of Luling and Caldwell County as a whole!
What to Expect at the New Luling Buc-ee’s
The new Luling location will be the largest Buc-ee’s ever, with a record 120 gas pumps. This flagship store will feature all the beloved amenities as its predecessors, including its signature Beaver Nuggets, delicious snacks, and clean restrooms. It will also feature the store’s trademark large parking lot that many travelers have come to recognize over the years.
In addition to snacks and drinks, travelers and locals will also find a wide selection of merchandise at the Luling location. The store has everything from t-shirts and hats to local souvenirs to home goods and decor. The store will also carry a variety of outdoor gear and supplies, as well as all the travel essentials one might need, making it easy for visitors to stop in and grab what they need quickly.
The new and expanded Buc-ee’s location in Luling, Texas, is sure to be a hit with locals and travelers alike. The store has already been a part of the community for 20 years and continues to provide excellent service, quality products, and unbeatable convenience.
Red Oak Development Group Is Building Austin’s Largest RV Park Down The Street From The New Luling Buc-ee’s!
To add to the new Luling Buc-ee’s excitement, RVing enthusiasts can look forward to Austin’s largest RV park being built just down the street.
Our Red Oak Development Group team plans to break ground on a massive RV park that will feature more than 500 sites and first-class amenities. This RV park will be located off of I-10 just down the road from the new flagship Buc-ee’s, making it an ideal spot for travelers to stay just a few minutes away from the store and all the attractions that Luling and Austin have to offer.
